One of my favorite aspects of writing and publishing with Macaroni KID Winter Garden-Ocoee is getting to meet lovely people in our community. Marina and Eddie, the wife and husband duo who own Eddie's Cleaning Services, recently cleaned the exterior of my windows and I was able to see firsthand their excellent work. It got me thinking, Why do we need our windows cleaned? I wanted to share their knowledge with you! They are both dedicated parents, hard workers, savvy small business owners, and good-hearted people.

Question: How did you start your business? And what made you see this need? What training did you need and get to start a business?
I always liked cleaning windows and while living in London, I had a friend who opened up a window cleaning business in 2012 and made it very successful. I always thought that was a great business and I would love to do the same. He helped us, coached and mentored us when I contacted him. He helped us when we opened our window cleaning business in Florida. I had hoped there would be demand, considering how many people dislike cleaning windows, while we enjoy it.
Question: Why do people need to get their windows cleaned? And what happens when windows don’t get cleaned?
Just like everything else around the house, windows also need cleaning and maintenance. Clean windows improve the overall appearance of a building, both from the inside and outside. They allow more natural light to enter, making spaces feel brighter and more appealing. Regular window cleaning is essential for maintaining the value of a property. Dirty, streaky windows can give the impression of neglect and decrease curb appeal. Dirty windows can also harbor allergens, dust, and other pollutants, which can affect indoor air quality and contribute to respiratory issues. Regular cleaning helps prevent the buildup of dirt, grime, and mineral deposits, which can corrode and damage window surfaces over time.

Question: What are you looking for when cleaning windows and what kind of cleaning do you do?
When cleaning windows, several key factors are considered for an effective cleaning process:

The type of cleaning method employed can vary depending on factors such as the type of windows, degree of dirtiness, and accessibility.
- Traditional Window Cleaning: This method typically involves using a squeegee, window cleaning solution, and a scrubber or mop to clean the glass surface. It’s effective for most standard windows and provides excellent results when done correctly.
- Water-fed Pole System: This method utilizes a telescopic pole with a brush attachment and purified water to clean windows, particularly those in high or inaccessible areas. The brush agitates dirt and grime, while the purified water rinses away residue, leaving windows clean and streak-free.

Question: What preparation do homeowners need to take when booking an appointment with you?
We ask that homeowners provide clear access to all windows that need to be cleaned and that sprinklers be off for the duration of the cleaning. By taking these preparations before the appointment, homeowners can help ensure a smooth and efficient window cleaning process, allowing us to focus on delivering high-quality results.
Question: How can potential customers find out how much it is to get their windows cleaned?
We offer In-Person Estimates:
- We visit the customer’s property to assess the number and condition of the windows and provide a customized quote based on our findings.
- In some cases we can also provide an online estimate
Question: What other services does your business offer?
In addition to window cleaning, we also offer exterior cleaning services. We do soft and pressure washing. We will be adding further services later in the year!

Question: Can you share a bit about your family?
We made Winter Garden our home in 2021. We (my husband and I) lived in the Orlando area in 2016 but then moved to Chicago to be closer to family. However, we kept missing Florida more and more and decided to move back and enjoy life here with our 2 boys (3yo & 5yo).
