Orange County Animal Services needs more foster parents! OCAS provides medical care and necessary supplies, while foster parents provide the time and TLC. They are especially in need of fosters who already have experience with bottle baby kittens and very young/medically needy kittens. There is also a need for foster parents for mother cats and kittens, cats with minor medical issues, and medium/large breed dogs who could use a break from the shelter.
As someone who has fostered many cats and kittens over the last five years, I can’t begin to describe the joy these furry little creatures have brought to my life and my family. From the tiny squeaks of newborn kittens to the hilarious antics of wobbly kittens learning to pounce, fostering has given us countless heartwarming and laugh-out-loud moments.
Fostering is an incredible opportunity to help animals during a critical time in their lives. It often requires housing animals for 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on the individual animal's needs. While OCAS supports fosters by covering medical care and providing supplies, foster parents need to have their own transportation to pick up and care for the animals.
If you’ve ever considered fostering, now is the perfect time to start. Your time and love could make all the difference for an animal waiting for their forever home.
