This week’s Where In West Orange (WIWO) took us to a place where art, history, and community come together—the Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center in the Town of Oakland!
On this particular visit, the Oakland Farmers Market was in full swing, filling the area with fresh produce, unique vendors, and a welcoming community atmosphere. But this wasn’t just any market day—it featured a special Leprechaun Craft & Hunt, adding a festive St. Patrick’s Day twist to the experience! Families and children searched for hidden treasures while enjoying the sights and sounds of the market.
Adding to the day’s charm, there was a Storytime on the Porch, where little ones gathered for a cozy reading session. This followed a refreshing FIT4MOM Mom Walk, a great way for local moms to get moving and connect with others while exploring the beautiful surroundings.
One of the standout features of this location is the striking “Cloud Cycle” sculpture by artist James Lasley. This eye-catching piece adds to the artistic appeal of the center, complementing its mission to celebrate the culture and heritage of West Orange.
