This week's Where In West Orange brings us to Freedom Park, a quiet neighborhood gem tucked next to Thornebrooke Elementary School.
You may recognize this park — it was one of the secret locations in our recent Leprechaun Gold Hunt! 🍀 Whether you found a sneaky leprechaun stash here or are just discovering it now, this spot is full of charm.
If you're looking for a peaceful, shaded spot to let the kids play or enjoy a family picnic, Freedom Park is worth checking out! The 2 playgrounds and swings sit amongst mature pine trees, providing plenty of natural shade — perfect for those warm Florida afternoons. Families will love the pavilion-covered picnic area, plus there are additional picnic tables and grills scattered throughout the park for a relaxing lunch outdoors.
There’s also a short walking path that winds through the trees, offering a scenic little stroll where you can spot birds, squirrels, and the occasional butterfly. It's a great spot to let the kids burn off some energy or enjoy a quiet morning coffee while they play.
Freedom Park may not be the largest in West Orange, but it packs a lot of charm and family-friendly features into a serene, well-kept space. If you haven’t explored this tucked-away treasure yet, it’s worth a visit!
